It’s Just Another New Year’s Eve by Barry Manilow

Don’t look so sad,
It’s not so bad you know.
It’s just another night,
That’s all it is, it’s not the first,
It’s not the worst you know,
We’ve come through all the rest,
We’ll get through this.
We’ve made mistakes,
But we’ve made good friends too.
Remember all the nights we spent with them?
And all our plans,
Who says they can’t come true?
Tonight’s another chance to start again.
It’s just another New Year’s Eve,
Another night like all the rest.
It’s just another New Year’s Eve,
Let’s make it the best.
It’s just another New Year’s Eve,
It’s just another Auld Lang Syne,
But when we’re through this New Year
You’ll see, will be
Just fine.
We’re not alone, we’ve got the world you know.
And it won’t let us down, just wait and see.
And we’ll grow old, but think how wise we’ll grow.
There’s more you know, it’s only New Year’s Eve.
It’s just another New Year’s Eve,
Another night like all the rest.
It’s just another New Year’s Eve,
Let’s make it the best.
It’s just another New Year’s Eve,
It’s just another Auld Lang Syne,
But when we’re through this New Year, you’ll see, will be
Just fine.

30 with mixed emotions

Filed under: Uncategorized — triciafmac @ 10:27 am and

I just turned 30 and I only have but mixed emotions.  Do I feel old? My answer would be “No! I feel more matured and experienced in a lot of things and I feel as if I’m only in my early 20s!”  Being matured and “old” (so they say) and after having gone through a lot (my friends would affirm), I can say that I am wiser now.  Although from time to time, I just prefer to be as mulish as a 10 year old kid…. This only goes to show that I can be responsible for my own doings but I still need to be pampered and reminded about certain things.

Am I happy? Definitely!  I couldn’t thank God enough for all the blessings that He has showered upon me and my family. I am really blessed to have a close knit and compassionate family, a supportive, considerate and loving husband, and unbelievably charming and talented children. I couldn’t thank Him enough for all the good friends I have and I’ve had who made the 30 years of my being so exciting, thrilling and an adventure worth remembering and the “not-so-good” friends I’ve had who taught me that I ought to know the mortal who I can trust or cannot trust.

I may have learned things the hard way but I’ve no regrets that I was an early bloomer! =)

Live a Life That Matters (By Anonymous)

Filed under: Uncategorized — triciafmac @ 9:01 am and

Whether you are ready or not, someday your life will come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days.  All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.  It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.  So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.  The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.

It won’t matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived at the end.  It won’t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant, even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.  What will matter is not your success, but your significance.  What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered, or encouraged others to emulate your example.  What will matter is not your competence, but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you are gone.

What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who love you.  What will matter is how long you will be remembered by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident.  It’s not a matter of circumstances, but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.
